About the p1mX-CAT Group of Indices
The p1mX-CAT Group of Indices are baskets of equities representing publicly traded firms that provide the services of contingency planning, emergency response, restoration and disaster recovery after manmade and natural disasters. Also included are companies that manufacture and supply products to the aforementioned. The equities listed within the p1mX-CAT Index represent four sectors; the p3mX-CAT Index (property/casualty emergency response), the p5mX-CAT Index (offshore services), the p7mX-CAT Index (disaster recovery/project management) and the p9mX-CAT Index (utility storm damage restoration). The objective of the p1mX-CAT Group of Indices is the development of a negative-correlating derivative trading system for insurers, re-insurers, self-insured and captives to hedge against various perils, as well as provide institutional investors that hold equities in property/casualty, re-insurance, offshore and utility companies a price fluctuation hedge. The p1mX-CAT Group of Indicesis presently in the research & development (R&D) stage, and we are working with a financial development firm and a national exchange on bringing varying trading platforms to market.
