PHI, Inc. provides transportation of personnel and, to a lesser extent, parts and equipment, to, from, and among offshore platforms for customers engaged in the oil and gas exploration, development, and production industry, principally in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Company provides its helicopter services to the oil and gas industry internationally, and to non-oil and gas customers such as health care providers and U.S. governmental agencies such as the National Science Foundation.

PHI provides helicopter maintenance and repair services to certain customers. It operates in four business segments: Domestic Oil and Gas, Air Medical, International, and Technical Services. Domestic Oil and Gas segment operates approximately 155 owned, leased, and customer-owned aircraft from several bases or heliports in the Gulf of Mexico region.

PHI also provides air medical transportation services for hospitals and emergency service agencies where it operates as an independent provider of medical services in 12 states using approximately 64 aircraft at 60 separate locations, which includes locations prior to the expansion. The aircrafts dedicated to this segment are specially outfitted to accommodate emergency patients and emergency medical equipment.

PHI performs maintenance and repair services at its Lafayette facility according to FAA repair station license, primarily for the existing customers that own its aircraft. The license includes authority to repair airframes, powerplants, accessories, radios, and instruments and to perform specialized services.
