GulfMark Offshore, Inc. provides offshore marine services primarily to companies involved in offshore exploration and production of oil and natural gas. The Company's vessels transport materials, supplies and personnel to offshore facilities, as well as move and position drilling structures. The majority of its operations are conducted in the North Sea, with the balance in offshore Southeast Asia and the Americas.

The Company has the following operating segments: the North Sea, Southeast Asia and the Americas. Offshore Marine Services Industry employs various types of vessels, referred to as offshore support vessels, that are used to transport materials, supplies, and personnel and position drilling structures. Offshore marine service providers are employed by oil and natural gas companies that are engaged in the offshore exploration and production of oil and natural gas and related services. Services provided by companies in this industry are performed in numerous locations worldwide.

The Company currently operates fleet of 59 offshore supply vessels. The vessels in the Mediterranean Sea, offshore India, the Middle East and offshore West Africa are operated out of North Sea region.
