Corporation, through its subsidiaries, provides dredging, and
commercial and industrial demolition services in the United
States. The Company operates in two segments, Dredging and
Demolition;
The Dredging segment involves in the enhancement or preservation
of navigability of waterways or the protection of shorelines
through the removal or replenishment of soil, sand, or rock.
The Demolition segment involves in exterior and interior
demolition activities. Exterior demolition activities comprise
the dismantling and demolition of structures and foundations;
and interior demolition activities include removing specific
structures within a building.
In addition, the company engages in the site development and
asbestos and other hazardous material removal. The Company
serves federal, state, and local governments; foreign
governments; domestic and foreign private concerns, such as
utilities and oil companies; general contractors; corporations
that commission projects; and nonprofit institutions, such as
universities and hospitals. The company was founded in 1890
under the name Lydon & Drews Partnership and changed its name to
Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company in 1905. |
